Melges 24 Nationals

The 2012 Melges 24 Nationals have now wrapped up. Throughout the 4 days of sailing, the fleet saw just about every type of weather pattern that Seattle has to offer. Thursday’s practice race saw a 10-kt southerly switch to an 18-kt northerly in the middle of the starting sequence. On Friday the wind never showed and the fleet turned to sunbathing. Saturday the fleet got 5 races in with 15-20-kt southerly and heavy chop. And then finally on Sunday the fleet saw a blustery southerly switch to a northerly in the middle of race 7.

AYSF would like to congratulate Harry Melges and his team aboard the Zenda Express for dominating the event, they put a clinic on all weekend long winning 5 out of the 8 races sailed.
